Peas in my Cosmic Fruit Salad? Investigating Young Galaxies from the Early Universe.

You are here

Project Description:

Green Pea (GP) galaxies are extreme emission-line galaxies with intense star formation, low metallicity, and strong [O III] emission. Along with related Blueberry (BB) and Purple Grape (PG) galaxies, they serve as analogs of early-universe galaxies. This project aims to extract photometric light curves from the ATLAS Forced Photometry server to analyse colour indices and to detect any variability indicative of a possible active galactic nuclei (AGN).
