Lab characterization & on-sky Commissioning of FiberPol Instrument for the SAAO 1.9 m Telescope

Project Description:

We are offering a Masters project at the SAAO to work on the development, on-telescope commissioning and early science with the upcoming new polarimetric instrument called FiberPol at the SAAO’s Instrumentation Lab. It will the first fiber-based 2D spectropolarimeter in astronomy and will enable novel astronomical observations.
